FocusBot Privacy Policy

Effective date: September 1, 2026 · Last updated: September 2026 · FocusBot v1.3.1

Thank you for using FocusBot — the Autonomous Deep Work Suite. Your privacy is fundamental to how this extension is built. This policy is short because we have almost nothing to say about your data: we do not collect it.

1. Data Collection

Not a single byte of personal data is collected, sold, or shared with third parties. FocusBot does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information, browsing history, IP address, or user analytics. This is a Zero-Telemetry, 100% Offline-First extension.

2. Permissions We Request

FocusBot requests only the minimal permissions required to function:

We do not request access to your browsing history, tabs, bookmarks, camera, microphone, or location.

3. External Servers

No data is ever sent to any remote server for tracking purposes. All sound is generated locally with the Web Audio API. The only outbound request FocusBot makes is an anonymous Bitcoin transaction (TXID) verification against a Cloudflare Worker when you activate a license — the TXID is already public on the Bitcoin blockchain and contains no personal information.

4. Local-Only Storage

All state — your saved frequency preferences, Pomodoro progress, custom settings, trial start timestamp, and license state — is stored entirely in your local browser. This data never leaves your device, and removing the extension permanently deletes it.

5. Single Purpose

FocusBot serves a single purpose: synthesizing neural/ambient sound and running a privacy-friendly focus timer. It contains no advertising, no analytics SDKs, no crash reporting, and no third-party trackers of any kind.

6. Bitcoin Payment Model

To maximize your privacy, FocusBot exclusively accepts Bitcoin for its one-time 1-year (365 days) license. No credit card details, billing addresses, or personal financial data are ever requested, processed, or stored.

(Payment Note: To maximize user privacy and prevent unauthorized recurring card charges, FocusBot exclusively accepts Bitcoin for 1-year licenses. No credit card details, billing addresses, or personal financial data are ever requested, processed, or stored.)

If you have any questions about this privacy policy, please open an issue on the project repository. This policy may be updated from time to time; any changes will be reflected here with a new effective date.
